04/28/09- "WOMEN'S CONFERENCE 2009" In 2008 our women set a goal to take 30 ladies to Conference in 2009. We hit our goal taking 10 women who had never attended before. We left at 9:30 Friday morning for Indianapolis. The traffic was terrible but we arrived in one piece hungry but enjoying the sunshine. We arrived at Calvary Tabernacle by 5:30 pm to get choice seats for the evening. Our theme this year was "Which was, which is, which is to come." Church started with a heritage choir and the spirit of the Lord was with us. Sis. Cindy Miller was the conference speaker. The Lord had directed her to speak to us on maturing in the Lord. God is not a God of prevention but a God of intervention. He intends to get glory from our story. She was too the point but had us laughing so hard it didn't hurt so much. Truth with humor makes the medicine go down. Saturday morning she spoke on living generously. We came away from the conference uplifted, motivated, encouraged and ready to grow up. We were able to fellowship with many friends we haven't seen in a while and to just enjoy each others company. Our goal for next year is 40 ladies to join us for our trip to Women's Conference 2010.12/11/08- "ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER" I have never been a part of a group of ladies who like to have so much fun! Monday night was our annual Christmas dinner and it was a blast! Sis. Nelson cooked a roast and the rest of us brought in side dishes to compliment the feast. All ladies brought in a wrapped Christmas ornament and we were given play money to bid on the bags. Sis. Nelson was the auctioneer and Sis. Patty Benjamin was our Vanna. After the auction was over we went into our new foyer for group pictures. That's when things got wild! I'll not post the fun pictures. See me later!
